In Delhi

Well, I got here safe and sound last night at the Delhi International airport. Since I haven't flown internationally in 11 years, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the airplane had individual video monitors where you could watch movies and television. Takes a bit of the pain away from having to sit in the same position for 13 hours!

I met one of my co-volunteers on the plane, luckily, and then we met a CCS rep. at the airport before making a harrowing journey through the Delhi streets (honking horns, seemingly no rules about lanes) to the flat where we will be staying until Monday. Since it was dark, it was hard to see what Delhi looks like--but we should have opportunity for some sightseeing today b/c we're shopping for salwar kameez (the tunic and pants we wear while volunteering).

That's all for now!

Beth, I am glad to hear you made it safe to Delhi and your flight was uneventful. Those international flights can be very boring.

Keep us posted.

Love,
Kirk
